It is our desire to encourage and help men discover the role God has given them for guiding and nurturing their families and leading them to follow God’s Word and to obey His commands.
Our men’s ministry exist to build and mold men of godly character – we define character at Pine Street Baptist Church as who you are when no one is looking and what you are willing to stand for when someone is looking.
"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” II Chronicles 16:9
Our men’s ministry exist to build and mold men of integrity – we define integrity as consistency between actions and inner convictions over time.
LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the LORD; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. Our men’s ministry exist to build and mold men who are holy – we define holiness to mean being set apart and separate from anything that does not please God and set apart for God’s purpose.
“A highway will be there, a road, And it will be called The Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools will not go there.” Isaiah 35:8
Our men’s ministry exist to build and mold men who are pure in heart – we define purity to be singular in substance without any imperfections or impurities.
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” I Sam 16:7
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who are humble in heart – we define humility as being repentant before God.
“For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart-These, O God, You will not despise.” Psalm 51:16-17
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who understand what it means have a fear of God. We define fear as demonstrating an understanding of who God is and what He is able to do. Fear of God results in a fear of sin and its consequences.
"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,” Deuteronomy 10:12
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who are faithful – we define faithful as being steadfast, dedicated, dependable, and worthy of trust.
“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Rev 2:10
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who are obedient – we define obedience as submission to the instructions of an authority.
“But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?” Luke 6:46
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who will seek and love God – we define seeking as pursuing after.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
Our men’s ministry exists to build and mold men who will become servants of the Lord – we define servanthood as being a good steward of time, talent, and tithe.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24
